This is Sushiboy’s story.

In the year 2003, a brilliant robotics engineer loses his son Alan in a tragic car accident. Distraught over his death, the dedicated, but heart-broken scientist uses his technical expertise to construct an android in the boy’s image. However, the scientist soon realized that his robot, Sushiboy, would never follow in his footsteps as he had once hoped. Instead, Sushiboy dreamt of rock stardom and groupies.
Armed with genuine life experience, an acoustic guitar, a melodic sensibility, and his rocket boots, Sushiboy set out to tell the stories of his life.

Along the way, Sushiboy began collaboration with David Henriques (old friend), Dave Stulberg (Vanderpark) and Marcus Wong (Vanderpark) to develop a sound fit for recording a demo. Together, they recorded ‘Raw’, a self- released effort, in February 2006. The title captured the live, off-the-floor sound that mirrors their charismatic on-stage performances.

Sushiboy’s pop/rock sound is melodically rich and inspiring. His honest writing and unconventional chord progressions are what set his songs apart from the rest. While the songs are skillfully arranged, they also reveal a songwriter who cares about his audience - always leaving them with that last hook and wanting more. Sushiboy’s style is accessible and appeals to a wide spectrum of listeners. It is for this very reason that he cannot deny his calling. The story of Sushiboy in the world of music has only just begun.
